About
Fisker Inc., founded in 2016 by car designer Henrik Fisker in California, developed the Fisker Ocean, an all-electric SUV with a solar roof. InnoRes Analytics, an international firm for intellectual-property and R&D services, supported its development with patent and market work.
The challenge
An electric-vehicle maker in development needed its patent filings tracked and its market understood.
The setting
I worked on the project from April 2020 to March 2021, while the Ocean was still in development. In this period Fisker went public on the New York Stock Exchange (October 2020) and prepared for series production. The Ocean was later built by Magna Steyr in Graz, Austria, from November 2022, with first deliveries in 2023.
What I did
- Tracked 350+ patent filings together with the engineering team.
- Analysed the market: total addressable market (TAM), customer interest and the customer journey.
- Built Power BI dashboards for patent status, reporting and market data.
- Tracked milestones and coordinated IT, engineering and external stakeholders.
